Refine your natural beauty
Tattoos are permanent until they’re not. If you’ve outgrown a design, regret the placement, or want a clean slate, laser removal actually works — it just takes time.
We use a Medlite Q-switch laser with multiple wavelengths to target different ink colors. The laser pulses for a fraction of a second, fragmenting the ink into tiny pieces. Your body naturally absorbs and processes it over the next few weeks. Repeat that over several months and the tattoo fades completely
What we can treat
We remove tattoos in almost any location, almost any size, almost any color. The main limitation: we don't treat eyebrow or facial tattoos due to the delicate skin in those areas.
-
Black Ink Removal Easiest to remove and responds fastest to laser treatment
-
Colored Tattoo Removal Red, orange, yellow, blue, and brown ink can all be treated effectively
-
Large Tattoo Removal We can handle tattoos from postage-stamp size up to several inches
-
Amateur or Professional Tattoos Both types can be removed, though amateur tattoos sometimes fade faster
-
Partial Fading If you want to lighten a tattoo for a cover-up or redesign, we can do that too
Questions about tattoo removal
Got questions? We do too. Here are the ones we hear most often -- hopefully they answer what's on your mind.
The Medlite laser has multiple wavelengths to target different ink colors. When you get treated, the laser pulses for a fraction of a second, directing energy at the ink in your tattoo. The energy passes through your skin and hits the ink directly. It fragments the ink into tiny pieces. Your body then naturally absorbs and processes those pieces over the next few weeks. Repeat that a few times, and the tattoo fades away.
Most tattoos need 6-12 sessions spaced 6-8 weeks apart. We use the Kirby-Desai scale to estimate the number within about 2 treatments. But several things affect how many sessions you'll actually need: tattoo size, ink colors, location, whether it's amateur or professional, and how old it is.
Black ink responds the fastest and fades most easily. Red, orange, yellow, dark blue, and brown also respond well. Green and purple are the most stubborn colors -- they take more treatments. But even the hardest colors fade until they're barely visible.
Treatments are uncomfortable but easily tolerable. We use numbing cream before each session and cool your skin with a device designed specifically to make it more comfortable. If you want extra numbing, we can do a local anesthetic injection. The whole thing is usually over pretty fast.
Sessions are quick. How long depends on the size and complexity of your tattoo, but most people are in and out fast.
Right after, the area will be white or red. You might see some pinpoint bleeding or small blisters, which is totally normal. Apply ice for the first 24 hours. Rest and elevate the area. Skip exercise, swimming, saunas, and steam rooms for a day. Keep the area covered.
For the first 24 hours, treat it carefully. Ice, rest, keep it covered. After that, you can go back to normal activities (no swimming). Apply vaseline or aquaphor to keep it moisturized. Don't pop blisters or pick at scabs. Avoid sun and tanning beds while it heals, which usually takes 5-7 days.
Everyone responds differently. Some people see the tattoo lighten dramatically after the first treatment. Others don't see a change for a few treatments. Black ink usually shows a change immediately with white or gray frosting. Just be patient and follow the aftercare instructions.
